A Visual presentation of a feminist perspective on access to affordable childcare, including how it affects various spheres of women's lives, and how it affects society at large. This zine briefly examines the historical context of Federally funded daycare during WWII, current effective childcare systems in place in other developed nations, and the many consequences which the lack of affordable childcare has on women and the entire economy in the USA today.

The Industrial Resource Center Network of Pennsylvania is the state’s affiliate of the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership program. Both the IRC program and the MEP have longstanding traditions of self-assessment and evolution as ways of being accountable to the public and of promoting continuous improvement. The IRC program and the MEP are charged with helping manufacturing in general, and small to midsized manufacturers in particular, improve their competitive position. This study describes the impact of GRC on the State of Ohio and on Northeast Ohio, where GRC is located. Northeast Ohio includes the eight counties in the Akron and Cleveland metropolitan areas.1 This report is an expansion and update of an earlier study, published in February 1996.2 As before, this study employs two methods to determine GRC’s influence on the state and local economies. This study reports on the contribution made by Playhouse Square Center to Northeast Ohio. The contribution comes in various forms, which are reflected in the report’s different sections. The first uses a traditional economic model to estimate the economic impact of Playhouse Square Center. It calculates how each dollar spent by, or due to the presence of, Playhouse Square generates additional spending and jobs in the local economy. Since its establishment in 1902, Lake Hospital System (LHS) has been a community-based, not-for-profit provider of comprehensive healthcare services to the residents of Lake, eastern Cuyahoga, Geauga, and Ashtabula Counties. Today, LHS is the largest employer in Lake County, with 500 physicians and over 2,400 healthcare professionals working in seven facilities.

The economic value of an urban university to a metropolitan region is comprised of (1) the educational opportunities provided to students who rely on local institutions of higher education, (2) the unique contributions of urban universities to the social and political infrastructure of a region, and (3) the research and service contracts and other funds and philanthropic donations attracted to the campus by faculty and staff.
