The purpose of this study was twofold. The first priority was to determine how relocated Somali women in Georgia addressed their political, economic, social, and psychological needs. The second priority was to determine whether gender roles changed, and how those changes impacted the lives of relocated Somali women in Georgia. This research is necessary due to the lack of literature on relocated women, especially African women, and the obstacles they face once they resettle in a country of asylum, especially in their own words. This study is significant because it documents relocated women’s experiences in their own words.

In recent years, West Cameroonians (Anglophones) have expressed deep concern regarding their relative deprivation in the political, social and economic realities in Francophone dominated Republic of Cameroon, particularly the widening gap which continues to manifest itself between the two entities since integration in 1972. This study examines the attitudes of local elected officials regarding quality of life ordinances that impact the street homeless in Atlanta, Georgia, and San Francisco, California. The case study approach was employed. A closed and opened-ended questionnaire was employed to obtain data. Content and aggregate data analysis was also performed. Although the data indicates that there is political representation for the homeless in Atlanta and San Francisco, it is not substantive.
