Risk and crisis communication is a vibrant and growing area of research and practice. As we head into the third year of publishing the first journal dedicated to crisis and risk communication, the editor and editorial assistant pose some especially promising areas for future research. Organizational-public relations discourse is changing given the advent of social media, and corporate statements are evaluated under different criteria in the digital age. Grounding Budweiser’s response to controversy over their 2017 Super Bowl advertisement in terms of consumer expectations for corporate social responsibility provides a new perspective for approaching Bostdorff and Vibbert’s (1994) conceptualization of values advocacy. Children are more likely to create bonds with foods based on the environmental, socioeconomic and familial influences in their lives during early development stages. They gravitate to foods that are familiar to them and that are positioned with familiarity, creating an opportunity for branded food items to create more of a space in their psyche as part of their identity. Advertising is a frequently used influential and persuasive means of communication, such as Kay Jewelers, a corporation whose advertising methods have been superficially appealing to a female audience. However, this study sought to investigate the ideological underpinnings associated with Kay Jewelers advertisements, employing an ideological criticism to argue through feminist theory that Kay Jewelers utilizes key elements of heteronormative love as a means to persuade and influence men to purchase their jewelry products. Frontiers in Public Health Services and Systems Research

This commentary asserts the need for research examining the use and efficacy of social media as a tool for meeting public health stakeholders’ information needs. The author points to several potential research questions for the field, situates studies addressing these questions within the PHSSR Research Agenda, and introduces the work of Harris et al. that is included in this issue of Frontiers. The commentary closes with a call for horizontal stakeholder communication that supports evidence-based decision-making.

Who Do People Trust For Financial Advice? Iowans Rate The Credibility Of Information Channels For Financial Information, Karl Henry Lang Iii

This study aims to determine the channels Iowans find trustworthy and expert in providing information regarding financial matters. It also examines how perceptions of trust and expertise relate to people's assessment of their financial literacy. Data were gathered through an online survey of 207 adults. The results show that Iowans made the most use of family and friends, community banks and credit unions, and newspapers. They rated national banks, websites, and government agencies as offering the most useful information.
