Definitions of learning vary widely across disciplines, driven largely by different approaches used to assess its occurrence. These definitions can be better reconciled with each other if each is recognized as coherent with a common conceptualization of learning, while appreciating the practical utility of different learning definitions in different contexts.

Learning is a major focus of research in psychology, neuro- science, behavioral ecology, evolutionary theory, and computer science, as well as in many other disciplines. This NebGuide summarizes Nebraska regulations on the proper storage of bulk liquid pesticides and fertilizers.

Significant quantities of agricultural chemicals -- both fertilizers and pesticides -- are used annually in Nebraska. Bulk supplies of these chemicals are stored for varying lengths of time by individual producers, chemical dealers, and custom applicators. Spills or potential leakage from storage tanks for liquid fertilizers and pesticides pose a major threat to the integrity of Nebraska's ground and surface water resources. Nebraska has a vital interest in protecting these resources and has made provisions to do so under the Nebraska Environmental Protection Act.

This publication, the first of six NebGuides on agricultural grain options, defines many of the terms commonly used in futures trading.

In order to properly understand examples and literature on options trading, it is imperative the reader understand the terminology used in trading grain options. The following list also includes terms commonly used in futures trading. These terms are included because the option is traded on an underlying futures contract position. It is an option on the futures market, not on the physical commodity itself. Therefore, a producer also needs a basic understanding of the futures market.
