The purpose of this study is to examine the use of Interactive Notebooks in a parenting course. The parenting courses in this study were composed of 10-15 students, ranging in age from 14-18 years. Parenting courses were designed for students to discuss important factors before becoming a parent, the process of conception to birth, and child development skills from 0-5 years. Interactive notebooks are a tool that organizes information, instruction, and thoughts of students while also providing a resource for students to review information. Econometric Analysis Of Erie County, Ny Schools: The Effects Of Poverty On Our Schools And Evaluating Possible Solutions, Ryan B. Keem

School districts in the Buffalo Metropolitan Area are very segregated by socioeconomic status which has resulted in very different educational outcomes for the region's students as measured by New York State assessment results at the 4th grade and 8th grade level in English Language Arts and Math. This study measured the correlation between average test score results for each school building in Erie County and the rate of low-income students in those schools. The multiple regression analysis performed controlled for race, percentage of students that had a disability, class size, and per-pupil expenditures by the district.
