The study explains college students' entrepreneurial attitudes and intentions as they prepare for careers in the field of Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS). It examined relationships between leadership behavior, entrepreneurial intensity, and attitudes as variables explaining and predicting entrepreneurial intentions of FCS students in early stages of their college education. The fundamental assumption was that how FCS students reach program of study and career decisions is inconclusive. A review of relevant theoretical perspectives of entrepreneurial intentions and antecedents guided the development of hypotheses for the study. Baby boomers, those born between 1946 and 1964, represent 77 million people in the United States or roughly one out of every three Americans. Baby boomer women comprise 37% of the total female population age 15 and older. Fully 70% of baby boomer wives are expected to outlive their husbands. The purpose of this study was to investigate unsecured debt and the practice of saving early for retirement by recent female college graduates. An electronic survey was conducted to assess graduates from the calendar years 1994--2004. An over-sampling of Family and Consumer Sciences majors was conducted for comparison. The amount of debt, amount of retirement savings, attitudes toward retirement, and expectations toward retirement were investigated. Intakes of dark green leafy, yellow/orange, cruciferous vegetables, and tomatoes (target vegetables), and involvement in physical activity have been shown to be protective actions against chronic diseases. Low-income individuals generally consume lower amounts of these target vegetables, engage in less physical activities, and experience higher incidences of chronic diseases.
