The history of New York City would not look the same without Robert Moses. For over three decades, the city's "master builder" reshaped its urban landscape during an era of unprecedented top-down planning and mega-projects. The ideas of this era, once reviled, have seen a revival in the modern day, particularly in the first two decades of the twenty-first century. This essay seeks to reconcile this revival with the ongoing legacy of Robert Moses and to present an argument that such a reconciliation argues for a reconsideration of his career and his ideas.

This study investigated the potential for development of station catchment areas around the proposed California High-Speed Rail System. The study was prompted by a review of practices of Japanese railway company groups that engage not only in train operations, but also in business diversification and property development within the station areas of their lines. Property valuation data were analyzed for two supportive campus sites for the same program for single mothers that are performing at different rates with regard to matriculation and graduation. The impact of these campuses on the valuation of neighboring residential properties was found to not have a negative impact. Property values were found to increase at a greater rate than nearby control neighborhoods. This provides an approach that the Jeremiah Program can provide to defuse neighborhood opposition against new campuses. This report provides a snapshot of housing affordability and housing conditions in Polk County, Iowa in 2014. The data in this report are based on a randomized, county-‐‐wide survey that was delivered via mail to 3,697 households in Polk County in 2013 and 2014. We received a total of 531 survey responses, giving us a maximum confidence interval of (±4.27) with 95% confidence.
