French Women In Art: Reclaiming The Body Through Creation/Les Femmes Artistes Françaises : La Réclamation Du Corps À Travers La Création, Liatris Hethcoat
Student Scholar Symposium Abstracts and Posters
The research I have conducted for my French Major Senior Thesis is a culmination of my passion for and studies of both French language and culture and the history and practice of Visual Arts. I have examined, across the history of art, the representation of women, and concluded that until the 20th century, these representations have been tools employed by the makers of history and those at the top of the patriarchal system, used to control women’s images and thus women themselves. The Language Of Fashion: Communication, Conceptual Clothing, And The Runway Performance, Jarred Johnson
Honors College Capstone Experience/Thesis Projects

Lingua Franca: An Analysis Of Globalization And Language Evolution, Abigail Watson
This project details the evolution of languages and how globalization and advances in communication have effected smaller language groups. A world community in which communication is standardized by a Lingua Franca is in most cases harmful for isolated language groups without many speakers. The extinction of language is harmful for human society and culture, and there are many different ways to help prevent language extinction.
This project includes an essay, an animation, six illustrations, and a coloring book that all relate to endangered languages.

Una entrada en la vida de las mujeres inmigrantes:
Una exposición visual para representar las experiencias de mujeres inmigrantes de México a través de retratos y entrevistas
California Polytechnic State University
The intent of my project is to research the lives of migrant, farm-working women who have migrated from Mexico and now live and work in California. The other purpose is to present the findings to the Cal Poly and San Luis Obispo communities through interviews and artistic expression.
In order to research and present the lives of these women, I plan to do the following ...
