Salman Schocken (1877–1959) was the owner of a multicorparate enterprise and a “businessman with art in his soul” as Felix Rosenblüth (1887–1978) said. His manner to handle money and his success in different fields of publishing and collecting rare books made it possible, that he could help other people in times of need.
