Clauses also provide for Freedom of Speech, as well as separation of executive and judiciary and freedom of movement within the country and abroad. In its report on human rights in India during 2010, Human Rights Watch stated India had "significant human rights problems ...

Community radio is a type of radio service that caters to the interests of a certain area, broadcasting content that is popular to a local audience but which may often be overlooked by commercial or mass-media broadcasters. Modern-day community radio stations often serve their listeners by offering a variety of content that is not necessarily provided by the larger commercial radio stations. Community radio outlets may carry news and information programming geared toward the local area, particularly immigrant or minority groups that are poorly served by other major media outlets. Philosophically two distinct approaches to community radio can be discerned ...

Empoderamiento - La Cultura, Reclamando Derechos E Identidad Y Expresión Poética En El Valle Del Chota, Hannah Roth

Hannah Roth

International Terrorism:Role ,Responsibility And Operation Of Media Channles, Ratnesh Dwivedi Mr Nov 2008

International Terrorism:Role ,Responsibility And Operation Of Media Channles, Ratnesh Dwivedi Mr

Ratnesh Dwivedi

"Terrorism" is a term that cannot be given a stable defintion. Or rather, it can, but to do so forstalls any attempt to examine the major feature of its relation to television in the contemporary world. As the central public arena for organising ways of picturing and talking about social and political life, TV plays a pivotal role in the contest between competing defintions, accounts and explanations of terrorism. Which term is used in any particular context is inextricably tied to judgemements about the legitimacy of the action in question and of the political system against which it is directed ...

Book Review: Crazy Horse. A Lakota Life, By Kingsley Bray. Norman: University Of Oklahoma Press, Sebastian Braun

Sebastian Braun

In the flurry of books on Crazy Horse, yet another text depicting the legendary Lakota's by now mythical life might seem superfluous at best, that is, if it truly is just another larger-than-life fictional biography. Luckily, Bray has written a text that reads as far removed from the usual Crazy Horse literature as possible.

Autobiographies By Americans Of Color 1980-1994: An Annotated Bibliography, Rebecca Stuhr

Rebecca A Stuhr

This book compiles and provides a brief summary of autobiographies published or reissued during the last decades of the 20th century. This is an excellent source for finding personal accounts of growing up just after the end of slavery through the civil rights movement, experiences for Japanese Americans during World War II, the American Indian Movement, and the growing movement for rights for immigrant labor in the United States. Many of these autobiographies were written to provide an account of family history, hardship endured, and accomplishments achieved for the next generation.
