Provides a broad overview of 3D technologies and applications, describes implementation and initial reception of 3D printing in The College's Drake Memorial Library as well as programs at Cornell University and SUNY New Paltz. Reviews potential applications of these technologies in the teaching/learning environment and expansion to a yearlong Faculty Learning Community focus and/or a campus makerspace.

The goal of this thesis was to take a character from concept to creation and animation. A variety of skills in 2D and 3D computer graphics were used in order to design and build the character for a 3D space. The character was taken from flat concept to 3D model, and then rigged with a skeleton in the 3D program Maya so that the character could be animated. The focus of the animation is a walk cycle.

Current apparel CAD technology enables manufactures to develop products rapidly in an efficient way. In addition, 3D technologies with virtual models are considered for an advanced design process. This can help a technical designer visualize the entire process from 2D pattern creation to end product fit assessment on a 3D virtual model. Three-dimensional (3D) digital scanning of archaeological materials is typically used as a tool for artifact documentation. With the permission of the Caddo Nation of Oklahoma, 3D documentation of Caddo funerary vessels from the Vanderpool site (41SM77) was conducted with the initial goal of ensuring that these data would be publicly available for future research long after the vessels were repatriated. Bringing Design To Life: Three-Dimensional Graphic Design, Cydnee E. Jones

For most people, graphic design is seen as a two-dimensional medium. I have challenged this preconception by creating a design that incorporates both two-dimensional and three-dimensional elements. The secondary purpose of this work is to highlight the importance of environmental sustainability, by both the use of sustainably sourced materials and by the choice of recycling as the topic of the design. The design was created with scavenged cardboard and utilizes photography and digital design techniques.
