Tuberculosis is an infectious disease, and different treatments have been discovered over the years. However, patients may develop various drug resistance levels that affect the likelihood of becoming cured or dying. In this study, we sought to employ data visualization to explore the relationship between treatment trajectory, as indicated by smear and culture results in the follow-up tests and patient outcomes. The goal of this design was to develop an extreme altitude rescue helicopter capable of retrieving hikers stranded on top of Mount Everest. Using the Eurocopter AS350 as a baseline, a conceptual model was produced that is fully capable of hovering and delivering forward flight at the desired altitude of 8,848 meters. A nonlinear programming model is developed for analyzing the queuing model of a kanban controlled system with fork/join synchronization stations. The model finds the minimum number of kanbans for a given throughput requirement or the maximum throughput for a given number of kanbans, where servers have different exponential service times. Furthermore, it aids understanding of kanban systems.
