The purpose of this study was to explore the Learning and Study Strategies Inventory (LASSI) in relation to hybrid-online clinical neuroscience course outcomes in occupational therapy (OT) and physical therapy (PT) students. The pursuit of the whole person through models like 3H (head, heart, hands) my miss a critical physical aspect within which the wholeness develops and exists. One such aspect originates at the earth’s two versions. Humankind has a good understanding of one version and little if any of the second. Such lack of knowledge would adversely affect the development and maintenance of human wholeness. This proposal considers a workshop at the 2020 Learning and Teaching Forum to address this knowledge deficiency in University of Dayton’s community through participative knowledge processing and systems thinking.

Majors level Human Anatomy has long been taught as a gatekeeping class for medical schools of graduate schools, and has been highly professionalized due to this. Cross boundary and collaborative education have existed in the past. The University of Dayton’s attempt to reignite these concepts of education is in line with its Catholic Marianist identity. Education can be achieved in silos or collaboration of various entities on campus, both face-to-face and in current times, online as well. This presentation will offer ways in which the Institute for Pastoral Initiatives has in the past achieved collaboration with other departments on campus, and how this can be done across the board for maximum student development.

Conscious consumer movements have given people opportunities to “vote with their dollars” – that is, buy from companies with values matching their own, and forgo products from businesses with questionable policies and practices. After providing brief context about consumerism and conscious consumption, I focus on a Conscious Consumer Project that I teach in my First Year Writing courses at St. John’s University. My discovery of the method of student self-discovery in tutor sessions established itself early on in my path of wearing the ‘two different hats’ of tutor and lecturer. Impact Of Computer-Based Peer Review On College Students’ Performance And Perceived Self-Efficacy In An Online Graphic Design Course, Sharon P. Wagner, Tracy Rutherford

Prior research has indicated that the incorporation of computer-based peer review into writing instruction increases student engagement, improves student performance, and increases student perceptions of self-efficacy. This study used a quasi-experimental untreated control group design to examine the impact of computer-based peer review on student performance and perceived self-efficacy in an undergraduate agricultural graphic design course. The impact of participation in computer-based peer review on performance scores was investigated using a MANOVA. After two rounds of peer review, students improved their overall course performance by one-half letter grade. There are no rules or perfect structures when it comes to teaching, tutoring, or learning. To be concerned with them will inevitably create a wall between the student and the teacher. That wall eliminates the possibility of open communication which leads to effective discussions—a back and forth—that results in true learning. Sometimes we need to kick the rules, the guides, and the formulas out the window and instead, remember what it is to be a student first.
