Messianic Allusions Of Zechariah 13:6 Revisited, Ingram London 2011 Andrews University

Messianic Allusions Of Zechariah 13:6 Revisited, Ingram London

Papers

This study seeks to demonstrate that the best way to understand Zech 13:6 is to locate the text within the larger structure of Zechariah in relation to parallel passages and the theological center of the larger context combined with careful textual analysis reveals that the text does indeed have at the very least messianic applications if not direct allusions whether primary or secondary.

Walking To Emmaus: Strengthening Christian Religious Faith, David Allen Estep 2011 Asbury Theological Seminary

Walking To Emmaus: Strengthening Christian Religious Faith, David Allen Estep

ATS Dissertations

This research project attempts to determine whether the Walk to Emmaus, as only one medium, correlates to the strength of a Christian‘s religious faith. The research project incorporated a quantitative research design using three instruments for crossvalidation purposes and a researcher-designed demographic questionnaire. The three research instruments used were the Santa Clara Strength of Religious Faith Questionnaire, the Duke Religion Index, and the Age Universal Religious Orientation Survey. The three quantitative instruments used tested the consistency of the results obtained through the different research instruments. The demographic instrument sought personal information concerning age, religious faith history, gender, and participation ...

Catechesis For A Practicing Church, Jim Fox

Theses and Dissertations

In "Catechesis for a Practicing Church" I . . . survey the history of Christian catechesis (looking for norms regarding content and structure), explore methods and styles of contemporary experts in secular and Christian education, and reflect on the context of a practicing church as observed specifically in Vineyard Community Church (VCC) to define and build a contemporary catechesis for VCC (the model) as well as for the larger practicing church.

The Church Going Glocal: Mission And Globalisation, Tormod Engelsviken, Erling Lundeby, Dagfinn Solheim

Regnum Edinburgh Centenary Series

'This book provides thought-provoking and inspiring reading for all concerned with mission in the 21st century. I have been challenged by its contributors to re-think our Gospel ministries in our new local contexts marked by globalization and migration. With its biblical foundation, its missiological reflection and interaction with contemporary society I warmly recommend this volume for study and pray that it will renew our passion for the Gospel and compassion for people'.

Under One Umbrella: Multiple Communities, One Church, Timothy Jacob Gillespie 2011 George Fox University

Under One Umbrella: Multiple Communities, One Church, Timothy Jacob Gillespie

Doctor of Ministry

It is my claim that the need for alternative communities within established church structures is not only growing, but is also paramount to the continuation of the gospel of Jesus Christ into the post-Christian, post-Modern world. These alternative communities often take the form of "emerging" worship services, Young Adult services, and "churchwithin- a-church" expressions of worship and community. They are seen in large, medium, and small church settings; as such, we see many of the same problems to varying degrees. The search for relevance has led us to these communities, and this author sees them as valid expressions of faith ...

Listening Life: An Approach To Spiritual Formation At Newberg Friends Church, Stephen D. Fawver 2011 George Fox University

Listening Life: An Approach To Spiritual Formation At Newberg Friends Church, Stephen D. Fawver

Doctor of Ministry

At Newberg Friends Church we have developed a Listening Life approach to spiritual formation based on the call of God recorded in Mark 9:7, "This is my Son, whom I love, listen to him." A listening life is a holistic life - one that is open to being in a love relationship with God, creating intentional space and time with Christ, and responding to the nudges of the Spirit in the spontaneity of life. This listening is richer when done together with others and more free if it embraces an experimental attitude that holds things loosely as we seek to ...
